What’s in Bethie’s Postbox #5

FanI received this postcard from China. It’s not your typical view card (picture of a city, town, nature) that I generally receive from Postcrossing.  I liked the idea of summer being blown away by a breeze. However what intrigues me the most about this card is the sender. After you register a postcard on Postcrossing you get to see the profile of who sent the card. This card was sent by a young student in China who wants to be a doctor.  What caught my eye was the first sentence of her profile: “I am fat.” Either there is something not connecting in her grasp of English, because this sentiment appears a second time in her profile OR body shaming is alive and well in mainland China.
